My father has been here in Panama for 12 years, when he tried to renew his drivers license he was told his immigration card was in an old format. He went to immigration to update the card and was told he needed a resolution number with a signature. Does anyone here know how he would go about getting this resolution number and signature?

If I will have a friendly nation visa, do I need a work permit?

Can I go through the Panamanian Residentsimmigration line when returning with a multi-entry visa and a Temporary Residency ID?

A question regarding an immigration issue.
My husband is renewing his passport. When doing so, his passport number is being changed.
My husband holds a permanent carnet (not cedula).
Can anyone tell me if he will have to renew his carnet as well?
If so, what is the process?
I am asking this question since the passport number is listed in the carnet and this is the way all immigration officials are making the connection between the passport and the local ID (the carnet).
Thanks!

Hi! Who did the student visa, help?🙏
What does it mean? “1. Poder y Solicitud (notariado). No es indispensable Apoderado Judicial.”
Do I need a lawyer to file documents?

So, I’ll be 55 in less than a month. It seems I got into a little mischief when I was a teenager. Imagine that. Anyway, my FBI report came back, and lo-and-behold, I have a misdemeanor Criminal Mischief-4th degree conviction on a county level that resulted in a small fine (no jail) and a Disorderly Conduct violation from the local cops with a conditional discharge. Even though these are from 1982, but I have been having difficulty finding information about whether or not they would prevent me from getting a Pensionado visa.

Is there anybody in this group who has recently obtained a residencia permanente con derecho a cédula? I’m in the process of getting my one and I have received 2 different information from 2 different lawyers…
My question is this one: After having received the carnet de residencia permanente, do I have to go to the Tribunal Electoral in order to apply for the cédula within a certain time frame? Will the derecho a cédula expire after a certain time? Or can I get the carnet de residencia permanente now and then apply for the cédula in a year or so?

If you’re applying for the Friendly Nations Visa, it will be much harder to get a work permit. The Ministry of Labor issued new rules on February 15th. You can still get the Visa easily, but the work permit will require that you prove a labor contract approved and stamped by the Ministry of Labor AND a payroll sheet too. This requirement applies to any means of approval for the Friendly Nations Visa including a corporation or acquisition of property worth at least $100,000 (titled in your name with no debt).

See the actual communication below:

Immigration is not, as of yet, requiring the labor contract and payroll sheet but it could in the future which will make it harder to get the Friendly NationsVisa.

Has anyone from the USA successfully been approved for Pensionado Visawith only an investment income or non-government pension of $1,000 a month?

If so, I’m having difficulties obtaining the extra documents and need some help.

The Friendly Nations Visa could go away so it is better to apply sooner rather than later.
